« This image is based on a light pattern I saw on the steps of a house in Dallas. I pared down the shape, and rotated it, so it is quite unrecognisable from how it originally looked, emphasising the formal elements and shapes. This was one of my first experiments using enamel paint, and unusual for my work in that the line that marks the division between the sections is not sharp, but blurred, from the mixing of the paint. » – Katherine Lubar
