Dai Robert’s UNIT series take the ideas of the early Modernists as a starting point, which the artist then reworks within a contemporary context. By using simple colours, geometric design and architectural form, Dai creates fascinating gravity-defying shapes that play and seduce the viewer with their sleek formal qualities. In Unit Drawing 274 he draws elegant perspectives and volumes through subtle tones, as previously seen in the works of iconic artists, such as Mondrian and Malevich.
