G – Gherkin, from the London A-Z series depicting famous London landmarks. The Swiss Re building, now 30 St Mary Axe, was opened in 2004. Most Londoners know it as ‘The Gherkin’ for its distinctive shape, designed by Norman Foster and Arup engineers.
