Description
Hammersmith and Fulham appears at first glance to be a traditional cartographic object featuring the London borough. It is in fact created from typography, featuring the names of locations as well as more subjective personal memories that the artist holds. Intertwining factual and narrative features gives this work a complexity that a traditional mapping cannot achieve. Our relationship to place is a deeply subjective one, and Walter’s series of works is representative of that.
